Since 2015, ECCOM is part of IAWM – The International Association of Women’s Museums. Founded in 2008 in Merano and turned into an association in 2012, IAWM aims to connect women’s museums around the world and promote culture, art, education and training from a gender perspective. It holds a variety of activities including research, projects, exhibitions, conferences, and the promotion of women’s museums internationally. In this context, ECCOM coordinated SHE-Culture, a project aimed at promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue through the analysis and evaluation of gender policies. SHE-Culture, among other objectives, aimed at the creation of an interactive portal for association and the analysis of the activities and social impact of the women’s museums network.
Since January 2010, ECCOM has been a member of Culture Action Europe, organization that promotes arts and culture in Europe, with which ECCOM shares the same objectives and the awareness of how important, from a significant growth perspective, it is the contact and exchange with cultural organizations and institutions operating in different contexts. Culture Action Europe supports access to the arts and participation in culture as a fundamental right of every citizen, and exerts its influence on European cultural policies, offering cultural actors a space to share and develop common strategies.
